2006

And Christmas 2006? I can’t remember. I know I submitted the first draft of my PhD thesis shortly before Christmas that year. I know I moved to the U.S. for my first internship early in 2007. So I suppose I was with family in England on Christmas.

Ah, yes, I looked back at photos – back in those days I actually organised photos by event. I blended Christmas 2006 and Christmas 2007 in my mind. 2006 was the year I got that green wool coat and we went to the Indian restaurant for New Years and had a big old party with a bunch of strangers. Those events feel too recent to be 5 years ago. I often feel like the pause button was pressed on my life about 3 years ago, when I started doing this humanitarian work thing. Yeah, that feels more like 2 years ago. 2006 + 2 years + 3 years on pause = today.

(I had a MySpace blog that year, but we all know what’s happened to people who thought MySpace was the wave of the future. No old posts to share 🙁 )

I do love a good Irish Whiskey. Mmmmmmm (Happy 2007, folks!)
